The Bruce Dennla Mk 4 enters the market. An important addition to the Dennla series, the Mk 4 has a shank lock-down feature which gives it the performance of a conventional MODU anchor in sand and stiff clay in addition to its proven performance in deep and ultra deep water. The anchor can be racked on bolster bars and can be deployed from a MODU either as a near normal load anchor or, by locking down its shank, as a conventional anchor for sand and stiff clay. This makes the Dennla Mk 4 uniquely versatile, in effect two anchors in one. |
2007 |
The Bruce Bight-Lock Chaser, introduced at the OTC 2007, is the first permanent chaser capable of remote locking and unlocking on a bight of mooring cable. This chaser enables most of an AHV's winch tension to be applied directly to an anchor during recovery, the use of lower winch tension and/or bollard pull for recovery, and the use of one AHV instead of two for installing wire inserts in a deepwater mooring system. |
2006 |
Introduction of the Bruce Chaser Stopper. This stopper blocks the passage of the Bruce Chain Chaser, offers minimum penetration resistance to anchor embedment, and ensures that anchor set down is in the correct azimuthal direction. |
2001 |
The Bruce DENNLA (Drag Embedment Near Normal Load Anchor) enters service. The Dennla is the first ultra-high uplift, ultra-high holding power, drag embedment anchor for deepwater taut-leg mooring. Now in service world wide, the Dennla is of special significance as it operates at all times in the manner of a conventional drag embedment anchor, it avoids pullout failure associated with vertical load anchors, and it can be racked on a MODU's bolster bars. |
1996 |
Introduction of the Bruce Anchor Tracker (This electronically records an anchor's embedment trajectory). |
1995 |
Introduction of the Bruce DENLA (Drag Embedment Normal Load Anchor - a 'vertical' load anchor or VLA) |
1987 |
Introduction of the Bruce Chain Tensioner (Later reported in the Houston Post, Thursday, June 4, 1992). |
1986 |
Introduction of the Bruce Fatigue Resistant Connector series. For the first time a chain connector has a fatigue resistance exceeding that of the chain to which it is connected. |
1983 |
Introduction of the Bruce Detachable Chaser. |
1980 |
Introduction of the Bruce twin shank anchor series. For the first time an anchor shank is used to assist, rather than resist, embedment. |
1979 |
Introduction of the Bruce Chain Chaser enabling easy anchor retrieval. |
1975 |
Special Meritorious Award for Engineering Innovation, OTC 1975. |
1973 |
Introduction of the original Bruce cast steel anchor. |
